Dear Ryan, I don’t know you - but I like you!

This post made me chortle, and released some of the steam that builds up over the course of each day in these weird times. Nga mihi nui!

Not sure I am picking up what you're putting down "the follow money" is that it? Maybe dumb it down for us non-doctorate folx.

Ewww, Bishop with a mullet. I can’t unsee that now. Van Velden looks seriously creepy.

Have you put some subliminal messages in that article?? It’s made me want to follow the money…

Brilliant. And extremely informative, whilst offering a sprinkling of humour within your treatise. I have to say the depth of your argument and the way you tease together each strand of evidence into the tightly woven rope is a masterful exercise in investigative journalism. Bravo Ryan! 🤣😂😅

It means a lot for the hard work to be recognised. This one was particularly challenging to write and took a while to come together. Thanks for the note.

I think I hear what you’re saying is. Another excellent substacker by the name of Cicero said “Cui bono?”

If you consider yourself a serious anarchist or socialist…follow the money regardless of whether it’s a left wing or right wing government. David Lange’s Labour government was THE most powerful, charismatic, much-loved government that enabled the most right wing neoliberal policies of Rogernomics. While all the leftists were starry-eyed about Lange, Douglas Roger was busy dismantling the economy, privatising, deregulating, cuts to social spending etc.

Don’t be fooled by a charismatic left wing leader, because while you’re busy being fooled, the economy will become gradually more capitalist and unequal and precarious. Under Ardern, we saw the one of the largest wealth transfers from the poorest to the richest (besides, obviously, colonisation itself), the signing of some of our largest and most-hated free trade agreements such as CPTPP (formerly TPPA), RCEP, EU FTA and UK FTA, the ongoing raupatu of Māori land for corporate profit (Ihumatao, Pūtiki, Shelley Bay to name a few), 90% of job layoffs being faced by women, not to mention the signing of a top secret multimillion dollar contract with one of the most criminal corporations on the planet with no transparency, accountability and the likely waiver of sovereign immunity.

Left wing socialist writers such as those linked above have also questioned Arden’s net worth skyrocketing from $800K to $30 million in the space of a few years.

Meanwhile the criminal corporation with whom NZ signed the major top secret agreement initially requested its records be kept sealed for 75 years in a major lawsuit in the USA.

Follow the money regardless of who is in power.

Well Ryan, your post is a little repetitive, but I get the point you’re making. “Follow the money” indeed! 😂
