I had exactly the same problem. Torn between just saying “the whole thing is f****d”, and writing substantive commentary. I had to delete a couple of paragraphs that basically said, giving feedback on aspects of the bill that depend on such appalling principles seems utterly pointless.
👍👏I waited til last night to finish mine - was worried about the site going down again as I also had trouble with another submission (not the Waitangi one🤷) & wanted to move onto other stuff today post "submission fatigue"! 😱
👏Thanks for all the good work leading up to this final day... Guessing there won't be as many as for the Treaty Bill, but many more than there would have been without you, & Melanie Nelson, Mountain Tui, & Dr Bex et al raising awareness & sharing resources from the likes of Prof Jane Kelsey etc 🔥
🤔Will it make a difference⁉️ Who knows - I do think SOME on the National side were hoodwinked by ACT as to the actual ideology & effects of this Bill as it was put forward in the past in terms of drafts, so perhaps their eyes are ready to be opened 👀 At least Opposition members will get some ammunition from everyone's submissions & we get the chance again when the Bill in it's next iteration goes to Select Committee eh⁉️
Luxon, Willis, Bishop, Brown are Extreme Right Atlas Network aligned, and there will be other National Ministers / MPs who are similarly aligned. In essence National is the larger ACT Party. People might have thought they were voting for a centre right party but instead they got and extreme right party. The likelihood of the RSB being introduced and passing into law, worryingly, is high.
P. S. I suspect there was a lack of research by the "negotiating team" from National - were any of them around on any of the previous 3 occasions ACT-lite tried to get this Bill through??
Brilliant and clear submission Ryan!
Thank you! I had to stop at some point. The bill is so bad on so many levels.

It’s so crazy how it so clearly doesn’t even comply with its own rules. It’s like Inception with the levels of badness.

I used to think that but I think Luxon is onboard with opening up NZ to corporate exploitation.

🤬 I put that as ONE of my explanations as to why it was guaranteed a pass instead of just a consideration as in the Waitangi Bill 😁

A dangerous piece of legislation if it was to be passed. Well said!
Well done Ryan and thanks for publishing it. Very helpful.
Yes! And I like how you start by saying who you are in contrast to the mumbo jumbo of the Minister’s intro
Ryan Ward thank you, this is so good! Can I just say I support your submission? So much of it is what I want to say!
